MASS IS THE PERFECT PRAYER
All prayer is good, but only the prayer of Holy Mass is perfect. Why is this? Because although God’s love, like the sun, is always shining down on us, we aren’t always receiving those graces. When we pray on our own, something is in the way, blocking God’s grace. Sin sits between us and God. Only through Holy Mass does sin no longer block God’s grace. This happens because at Mass, God the Holy Spirit offers God the Son to God the Father. Therefore, the sacrifice is pure, perfect, and infinite. Through His goodness, God allows us to unite our prayers to His and be part of this incredible outpouring of grace and love every time we attend Holy Mass.
SAINLY FAMILIES DEDICATED TO DAILY MASS
Several holy families were dedicated to attending daily Mass together. Here are just a few.
Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin walked to Mass together each morning. As she later wrote, their daughter, St. Therese, attended Holy Mass each and every day of her life.
St. Monica would not let a day pass without attending the Divine Sacrifice of the Mass. Each Mass she offered for the conversation of her son and other family members.
St. Francis of Assisi offered Holy Mass every day.
St. Aloysius Gonzaga, St. Alphonsus Rodriguez, and St. Gerard Majella used to serve as many Masses as they could, eager to be present for the perfect prayer of the Mass as often as possible.
