Since my family loved the Jesse Tree so much during Advent, I longed to have some daily scripture activity to walk us through Lent as well.
So, I created the JESUS tree. It is a set of ornaments that walks the faithful through the entire life of Jesus over the course of the Lenten season.
I made the pattern for ornaments that could be created out of felting. As well as ornaments that could be printed and colored.
I loved how the Jesus tree turned out, and I was thrilled to see it purchased and used by so many families last year.
Yup, over 800 people bought and used the Jesus Tree last year (insane!). I just love to think of all those families reading about the life of Jesus each night.
I have every intention of using the Jesus tree once again this Lent with my family…but I just couldn’t leave good enough alone.
But this year, with my own family, I really wanted to journey through the Gospel of John.
I wanted to spend Lent journeying to The Cross with Jesus by way of the Wedding at Cana, the Woman Caught in Adultery, the Bread of Life Discourse, and the discussions with Nicodemus.
Yes, the Gospel of John is a bit more complex and often hard to understand, but how beautiful to have an opportunity to read through all of those stories as a family!
So, I made 21 new ornaments for the Gospel of John. There are 42 ornaments in the full set (40 days of Lent, plus two for the Easter season), but there are only 21 NEW ornaments.
If you too want to dive head-first into the Gospel of John this year, you can get the felt pattern and the printable ornaments right here.
You can also buy the full bundle of Jesus Tree Ornaments (a total of 62 ornaments) for both of the Gospels, for only $10.

JESUS TREE FELT ORNAMENT PATTERN–$7
JESUS TREE PRINTABLE BUNDLE–$7
As I’ve already stated, you can purchase the felt ornaments patterns and make your own felt ornaments for your Jesus Tree, or you can use the printable pack to print out ornaments to color, or even use the ones that are already colored for you. Regardless, there are 42 ornaments in this set.
Let’s look at the felt ornaments first, since they are a bit easier to see.
Below are all the ornaments included, in the order, they are to be used for the Gospel of John Jesus Tree.
Look below this image for the stories in the Gospel of John that they correspond with.
Yay! There are so many great stories that I can’t wait to rediscover with my family this Lent.
You can also purchase the printable pack for the Gospel of John.
The printable pack includes 3 different versions of the ornaments: Large ornaments to color, small ornaments to color, and small ornaments that are already colored.
The pack also includes 2 printable crosses (the true tree of life or Jesus Tree) that can serve as a “Lent Count Down”, as shown in the image below.
Included with both the felt ornament patterns and the printable pack are verses to read with each ornament, dated specifically for the 2018 Lenten Season.

The period till easter I want to make video’s around the jesus tree. I want to let them make the Rounds with me, but they Will do it from Thérè homes and I Will do it in a video. May I share the files with them so they can make it together with me? Because of the copyright I want to ask for Youre permission.
Kind regards Carlien
Any chance to you might create a bundle discount for both felt and printable in one purchase (the whole shabang?) I’d like to start the felt, but since I’m “behind” feel I want to be able to supplement with printable until I get felt finished.
