Socks play a big role in my life as a parent.
First, I find socks everywhere…
I find them on coffee tables, in the backyard, stuffed in cupholders in the car, under beds, in backpacks, behind bookcases, piled up in closet corners, under the table, in the silverware drawer, and, of course, under the couch, in the couch, and on the couch.
I also spend unreasonable amounts of time matching socks, sorting socks, and running up and down stairs fetching socks for children who have, for no apparent reason, removed their socks and lost them (probably in the couch).
Crusty socks, mismatched socks, colorful, plain, worn and new. Socks, socks, socks!
Because of this, when Sock Religious, an incredible Catholic Company out of Indiana, approached us with an idea to produce Kids Saint Socks I was very interested.
I love Sock Relgious’s moto that everything (even socks) can be a tool for evangelization, and I know how important socks are to my kids.
Like most kids, my kids prefer “fun” socks, with images of Disney Princesses, Marvel Heroes or those silly dogs. And while those are fun, they aren’t very meaningful. They also aren’t often very inspiring role models.
While designing our Saint Socks with Sock Religious, I fell in love with the idea of a child pulling these socks on before heading off to school. With shoes on, the no-show socks comply with uniform rules, but each time the child takes off their snow boots, changes into gym shoes, or kicks off their shoe at the end of the day, there is the smiling face of a saint. It’s a reminder to that child that they too are called to be a saint, and that saints were and are real people just like them.
If possible, we would love to send every Catholic child to school this year in a pair of saint socks because we ALL need this reminder. We ALL need to look down and see the face of a saint and be reminded that we too are on the PATH TO SAINTHOOD.
For this reason, we have once again placed our saint socks on sale as part of our big Back to School Sale. Now through August 2nd, each pair of socks is just $10, instead of $14.
We want your child to be the one looking down and seeing the saints.
Get your socks before the sale ends.
In Christ Jesus,
Nancy
