St. Therese Printable

by Nancy Bandzuch · 3 Comments

Hello! I am stopping by with a last-minute post.

I feel like I am always running behind–and today is another example of that!

Today is the feast of a St. Therese. A Doctor of the church and a wonderful model of how God desires us to love him through our smallness.

Her autobiography is so simple and yet so challenging, pointing out all the opportunities we have for sacrifice.

She died young and lived as a cloistered nun. And yet her model of faith and devotion to God has changed the world.

It is her words, that we are not called to do great things, but small things with great love, are the very words I use daily, whether mothering or blogging, to center my life.

Today I have been reflecting on a short passage also taken from her autobiography:

“God would never inspire me with desires which cannot be realized, so in spite of my littleness I can hope to be a saint.”

Such a powerful call to us all that we too can be saints–and should be striving in that direction!

St. Therese is often called the little flower.

And so I put together this simple printable, using a gorgeous shot my niece Mary took while we were vacationing in Michigan. To hang in my house and remind me of this high calling for my life and the lives of my children and husband.

And, I would be remiss not to mention my dear niece Therese. Whom I love dearly and am missing very much today, on her feast day.
