And I have been truly been blessed, and sometimes I just can’t believe that the Lord has blessed me with such a wonderful family.
I didn’t get married until I was older (and, I felt very very old), but the Lord knew best!
He had wonderful things waiting for me–a loving husband, and (so far) two great kids who really love each other already.
When my son was just a few months old we splurged and bought a nice DSLR camera and I have been putting it to good use.
However, with me always behind the camera we really have very few good complete family pictures.
Luckily, however, my mom did snap this one when our little girl was just 4 days old and I just can’t stand how perfect my little Gus looks in this picture!
Wow!
I’m not in love with my haggard, I-just-gave-birth, appearance, but other than that, the picture is perfect.
So, I decided it really needed to be displayed!
But, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on this project.
So, I headed to Office Max and got it printed for $4!!! No joke! Mandy had a great tip to do this here.
First off, purchase your wood–and then have your sister who is handy with the power tool cut it to the correct size.
(Isn’t my sister cute?)
And, by the way, that’s my sister Ruth handling the power tools. Check out here DIY project here and here.
Then, paint the entire board.
I went with a real green because when it comes to color I have always believed that you either go big or go home!
Once the paint is dry, apply spray adhesive to the board where the picture will be.
Press the picture down and make sure to get out any wrinkles or creases.
And finally, use a hot glue gun and hemp string to give the entire picture a nice border.
DONE!
I love it.
And the nice thing is that since the picture only cost $4, I can easily and cheaply update the photo when babies #3 and #4 and #5 and #6….roll along!
Oh, and I have to share a few more pictures.
My craft room is right next to the playroom–so sometimes crafting and playing get mixed, which is okay because my son loves crafts, especially when things get a little messy.
I was finishing up this picture and he was working on painting a mother’s day gift for his grandma, and we both got distracted and took a few pictures.
I am feeling especially blessed!
Thanks for being here–and I hope you try making your own MEGA picture!
Fabulous job! It turned out so great and the green really makes it pop!
