Ready to have your mind blown? Okay, here it is:
About six months ago I realized something…
đź’ĄRight?!
Confused? Okay, let me explain.
Even though we say we are a “daily podcast for Catholic kids” and everything we create is meant to be used by kids or with kids, we actually have zero hopes of forming your kids into saints.
Why?
Most importantly, here at Catholic Sprouts, we 100% believe that you are up to the task.
You see, for far too long, parents have let outside institutions do the work of forming their kids–with mixed results. Whether it’s parish-based CCD programs, religion classes at Catholic school, youth leadership programs, or something else, parents embraced the “drop-off culture” and simply left all of the important work of forming their children to others.
And as a result? The Church is in crisis. The Faith is NOT passed on and young adults are foundering.
This is God’s will for parents! It’s God’s will for you.
The family is a sacred institution created by God and used by God to reveal His very nature to the world.
Read that sentence again, but this time read it knowing that this is referring to YOUR FAMILY. Yes, your family is meant to communicate the very nature of God the world. In fact, the Church often refers to the family as the “SCHOOL OF LOVE” because it is in the family that we first learn to love, forgive, work, laugh and lead.
And so, Catholic Sprouts have no desire to come between you and your child. It is our mission to support you in the work of evangelizing your children.
The Virtues for Catholic Youth was created for you to use in your home. Through this study, we have given you the words, but YOU need to be the one to say them. Not a teacher, not a podcast–you.
We believe in you.
You are part of a family, God’s holy institution that will renew the world.
Let’s get to work.
If you think that The Virtues for Catholic Youth could be a useful tool in your home and with your children, we encourage you to head over and check it out. Our launch deals are still good through July 1st.
Jesus, we trust in you!
Your sister in the small things,
Nancy
Faith crises are happening so much throughout all Christian churches, and in other religions as well.
As a parent of 8 kids, I recognize that it is my wife’s and my obligation to help our children be guided through and around all the crazy things that are happening in the modern society and hope that they can endure in righteousness until Jesus comes again…hopefully soon.
