Hand Stitched Love Birds

Happy Monday!  

Up here in Minnesota, we are all basically hunkered down for a few days.  

The sun is shining, but it is COLD.  

The high is supposed to be -2 degrees today. Yup, you read right.  

It’s not even going to get up to zero!  So, even for those of us that are used to the cold, this is brutal.

Today I am very thankful for my warm house, a fridge full of groceries, and the fact that I’m a stay-at-home mom, so today we get to stay home!

Today I thought I’d share another little project I stitched up for Valentine’s Day. I am deeply in love with the man I married and we still feel like 2 love birds (most of the time).  

We have only been married 2  and a half years, and in that time we’ve had two children, so our lives aren’t always easy, and we don’t have the time for each other that we once did.  

However, through it, all our love has matured and grown deeper.  

I pray that we never lose that childish, fun part of our love, and we always remain two little love birds.

Oh, enough gushing!

I’m not going to bore you all with the details here.  

Just a few tidbits in case you want to stitch one of these up yourself.

I used the same birdie pattern that I made for this tutorial this summer.  

Then, stitching down the heart first, I used a backstitch around all of the pieces.  

Then I took a light brown thread and back-stitched around the entire thing. The backing is a piece of white felt.

Finally, I stuck it in a frame and put it on my mantle, as part of my Valentines’ display.

I think I am going to start a new stitching project cause baby, it’s cold outside!
