The “CARDinals” Penpal Progam

inside the Catholic Sprouts Clubhouse

Welcome friends! The “CARDinals” is an interactive penpal project in the Clubhouse to help connect Catholic kids across the US and world!

Here’s how it works:

1. Submit your child/family name and address and agree to the group rules. Each quarter we’ll update the list so you have opportunities to join or leave the group as needed.
2. When you receive the list of participating families, choose one from the list and send them a card – postcard, holy card, handmade greeting card – and include three facts about your family. (We’ve included some samples below to help you.)
3. Make sure you include your name and return address written clearly somewhere on your card or letter. Then address it, stamp it, put it in the mail, and wait for a reply!
4. When you receive a card from a new family, send a return card back to them! Try to do this within one week so they aren’t waiting a long time.
5. When you receive a return card (a response to an exchange you initiated), you can choose a new family to exchange cards, or you can send another note to the same family and keep the conversation going. It’s up to you!

This is a private group to connect kids and families and get fun mail.

Please respect the following rules:

• I will not use the names and addresses on this list for any other purposes besides those stated above.
• I will not share the names and addresses on this list with anyone outside my family. 
• I will be courteous and return a card when someone sends one to me. I will try to do this within one week of receipt when possible. 
• I will communicate with the Catholic Sprouts team if I have any issues or notice any inappropriate behavior that does not comply with the group’s purposes or rules.

Some ideas of facts you could include in your cards:

• Who is in your family? Do you have pets?
• Where do you live? What is it like there?
• What is your parish or school like?
• What do you like to do in your free time?
• What are some of your family’s favorites? (games, books, teams, sports, etc.)
• Who are your patron saints or saints special to your family?
• How do you celebrate special feast days or holidays?
• How does your family pray together?
• What’s special or unique about your family?

We will be accepting families into The CARDinals penpal program through September 25th. Then we will close the form, compile a list of families, and send it to you so you can start writing!
