So, I thought I’d share a special little project that you can easily make for your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day.
A DIY Photo Booth Picture Strip made entirely with free online tools.
What is it about photo booth strips?
They are just so cool and romantic.
Are you with me on this? I just love them!
But, I am cheap cheap cheap. I have never actually paid to get my picture taken in an actual photo booth.
So, if you too are cheap like me. It’s time to get creative and make your own photo booth picture strip featuring you and your sweetie.
What you’ll need:
4 digital pictures of the two of you. Preferably, the pictures should all be taken at the same time, and it helps if you have a white background (I know, I failed on this point).
Computer with internet
Printer
Once you have your pictures taken, head over to PicMonkey: crazy-awesome photo editing. This is a free on-line photo editing tool…and it is really cool. Once you are on the main page you will see two options at the top of the page, “Edit Photo” and “Create Collage”. For now, click on “Edit Photo” and load in each of your photos, one by one, and change them to black and white. To do this, click on the magic wand icon on the right (second one down) and then pick the black and white option and apply. You may also need to lighten the exposure on a few of your pictures, as black and white can make them a little dark.
Once all of your photos are black and white and you have them saved to your computer that way, go back to the home page for PicMonkey and this time select “Create a Collage”. Once in this screen, click the upload pictures square and add all of you photos. Then, click on the second icon on the right and select “ducks in a row”, then the option with 4 squares for photos. Once this appears in your window, rotate it (controls for this at the bottom of the screen) so that it is vertical. Next, simply drag and drop your photos into the squares. Once you photos are dropped in you can grab them and move them if you’d like. Finally, click on the bottom icon on the right, the one that looks like a paint pallet, and change your background color to black.
Done!
Here is what the final version of my photo strip looks like.
Awe, you know I really love that silly guy…
And here it is printed, ready for my husband on Valentine’s Day.
I hope my explanation wasn’t confusing.
This is actually a very easy project.
And PicMonkey is a very user-friendly program with lots of fun options for editing photos. I do all of my photo editing there.
If nothing else, do yourself a favor and head over there to check it out. I love it and so will you.

Wow, this is so simple and looks like it was really made in a photo booth! Great guide, I’ll have to save this for later. Thanks for sharing!
what size did you print them at!!!?
I laid it out in a google doc and stretched it to fit the length of an ordinary page. Then I trimmed the sides after I printed it.
