I Heart You Cross Stitch Pattern

by Nancy Bandzuch · 8 Comments

I heart you free cross stitch patternHello friends! With February underway, Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it.  Is this holiday creeping up on anyone else?

If so, don’t worry. This I Heart You Cross Stitch Pattern is simple–and sort of sweet, right?

I was able to stitch up a couple of these guys today during nap time–and that was with a baby bouncing on my knee.

Even though there isn’t much to it, I created the pattern for this project and decided to share it here with you all!

Just to make your Valentine’s day a little bit more lovely!

But first, let’s talk about the whole I {heart} thing.

Seriously, 11 months out of the year I hate the I {heart} thing. What does it really mean?

Does {heart} mean love?

Does it mean like?

Something else?

And, why are we taking time to write out {heart} if it does mean love, I mean love is fewer letters…  I just don’t get it.

But, then February rolls around and I not only really like the I {heart} thing, but I starting {heart}ing everything in sight.  Including my cross stitch projects.  PS–I {heart} all of you!

I heart U

Just a few notes about this project…

If you scroll down you will get the actual pattern–which is easier to read than the image above.

I didn’t include a legend with this pattern because you can use any colors and any thread you’d like to create it.

However, if you are wondering how I created mine, I used black floss, 2 threads at a time, for the letters.

For the heart I used a thicker variegated thread and, since my thread was quite thick, I did my heart with only a 1/2 stitch.

The virtual image above, however, shows what it will look like with a cross-stitch.

If you are new to cross-stitch–don’t worry it’s easy–head HERE for basics on getting started with cross-stitch.

cross stitch I heart you.

Also, I stitched mine on a 14 count Aida cloth.

You can, of course, use any count Aida cloth, but if you use 14 counts the finished project will fit perfectly into a 3″ embroidery hoop.  And it will look so cute too, right?

Please find the pattern below–and if you have any questions at all, please let me know!

And let me tell you, this project is just how I like them–just a few colors and not too involved.

Easy to accomplish in one evening or less!

I heart you free cross stitch pattern for Valentines Day!

Thanks for being here!
